your ma’se kfc

With time against us, we jumped on to an opportunity to make a meal about the simple idea that no one (yes not even your mom with her amazing cooking skills) can ever re-create KFC. It got massive hype and sparked conversation all over social media with the renowned Trevor Noah at the center of it all.

In South Africa, “YourMaSe…” is a playful twist on a local saying that’s instantly recognizable in pop culture. It’s often used to exaggerate, mock, or poke fun at something in a cheeky way that everyone understands. Translated into English it means “Your Mom’s.” But by turning it into #YourMaSeKFC, the brand tapped into a uniquely South African way of joking — making KFC part of the everyday banter people already use online.
